Babylon 5 Sid Meier’s Civilization IV Beyond The Sword Final Frontier Mod

Has anyone here played the Babylon 5 total conversion space mod for Sid Meier’s Civilization 4: Beyond The Sword? I decided to give it a go a couple of months back to a do a cool tribute to it on my Babylon 5 Fan Games Website and have been COMPLETELY addicted since lol! It uses the awesome Master of Orion style Final Frontier space mod for Civ 4 BTS to create an amazing B5 space strategy game. Was so blown away I made a 3 part video series below for people who may not know about it. For a turn based strategy gamer like me who’s always wanted to play a sandbox game as the Earth alliance colonising planets and conquering the galaxy with Hyperions, Omegas & Warlocks it’s just a dream come true!! The creator has plans to add huge battle scenarios (separate to the sandbox game much like the Star Trek Civ 4 mod), and he wants to have playable shadows & Vorlons too. Unfortunately he’s the only one left working on the project now and he has limited C++ coding/graphics skills so progress is slow. Hopefully he doesn’t abandon it! If you’ve got experience with C++ or the Civ 4 graphics toolkit then he could really use your help!

MASSIVE Site Update

Wow.. over 18,000 visitors to Blake’s Sanctum now! And quite a bit of increased traffic to this blog as well! 🙂

I looked at a screenshot of the website that I took at the end of 2014 and saw that there had been around 14,000 visitors over the history of the site at the meaning 4,000 people had visited this site over the last 2 years which was an amazing increase, but then I found another screenshot I took towards the end of 2015 showing the counter at around 15,000 which means that 2015 was just another year for the site and it was in fact this year that things exploded with 3,000 visitors. I have no idea why considering I hadn’t worked on the site since 2014! It hasn’t been a great 2 years in real life, health troubles, a long term relationship breakdown and a few other dramas certainly slowed me down a lot. But I’m back now and have been very busy over the last 3 months working on the site again.

As posted previously I’ve recently released a brand new Star Trek Gaming page which is probably now the largest section on my site with a huge tribute list of fan projects. I then went and updated every other gaming section on the site with new game tributes, better existing game tributes, more screens, more videos, more long lost demos, and navigation upgrades. If you visit your favourite section of the site, odds are you’ll find some new stuff there! 🙂

Thank you everyone for your support, I’m now going to upgrade my youtube channel and then finally release my 2 big mod projects to the world!

Babylon 5 Games Website Section Updated!

Turned my attention to my Babylon 5 Fan Games section which I hadn’t touched in years! A lot of the fan project websites had gone down, but I was able to locate most of them on web archive although sadly I think some demos were lost! Some videos were lost too but fortunately I had my own copies of them so I’ve stuck them up on youtube for B5 gaming fans to enjoy and never forget the hard work those modders put into their games.

Took a while to cut together but I’ve created a tour of the awesome Babylon 5 fan game Danger and Opportunity for my Babylon 5 Fan Games section. They’ve really done an amazing job and recreating the feel of the show in their in-game cutscenes so check out my video and try their game, its free!
